Here we gooooo…
Hello,
Why did the gardener decline the job offer? Because the celery wasn’t competitive enough.
Thanks for dropping in. I’ve decided to start a blog in hopes to share pertinent information surrounding planters to help people start their own gardens. I am by no means an expert gardener or woodworker but I know enough to get by. When I can’t, well I turn to my dad. He has had successful gardens in the harsh climates of Northern Ontario for as long as I can remember. If that’s not enough then it’s off to the good ol’ interweb. Where else can a person find answers to things that baffle them?
My vision
I have a vague idea of the direction I want for this blog but your comments will help guide the way. I strongly encourage my audience to participate so that we can all feed off each other in order to feed each other. The time is now to start planning your gardening projects for the summer. Whether it’s figuring out the material you need, the type and location of your garden or even starting your seedlings. Spring will sneak up on us quickly and you don’t want to find yourself rushing when the seeds should already be in the ground.
We are all well aware about the shortage of material due to this pandemic. It is still creating havoc on everything so don’t get caught up in it. I remember the craziness that ensued last spring all too well, the long waits for lumber set some people behind for the start of the season.
In order to help you get you started on your planning I am providing you with a link for the planting calendar for the Ottawa region. https://www.almanac.com/gardening/planting-calendar/on/ottawa. Make note of the dates that are important to you and don’t forget to set yourself a reminder to have the products ready on time
With the price of everything skyrocketing, it’s a grand time to stop depending on grocery stores. It’s time to become become more self sufficient. How do you feel about eating cleaner food without the exorbitant prices we find in the supermarkets? Imagine the pride and satisfaction of eating the fresh crops that you have labored over. What do you say? Let tuce spend a season together and see what crops up?
Happy holidays to everyone
